What a term! We have had several difficult times this term and continue to remember the Robeson family in our prayers. We also keep Vicki Leonard whose husband passed away suddenly and Anita Woods whose mum passed away in our thoughts and prayers. The support of our school community has been greatly appreciated by all in these difficult times.
We have also had lots of highs. Year 6 camp, Confirmation, Cross Country and SSP Day to name a few.
Staffing our school has become difficult, as it is in many workplaces at the moment. The staff have been extremely resilient and flexible, working with interrupted or non-existent planning and preparation time. May the holidays be restful and enjoyable for you all.
At the end of this term Rita Renwick will be going on long service leave for the remainder of the year and then retiring. Rita has been at SSP since 1995 and has taught a variety of year levels. We wish her all the best on her retirement.
Renae Lloyd will move to fulltime in 3B as Erin Roseingrave takes up a job at a new school. We wish Erin all the best in her new endeavours.
Sonia Fitzpatrick remains at SSP for part of Term 3 and will then be retiring. We will farewell her at the appropriate time and welcome Mrs Samantha Lenaghan as part time teacher in 3M for the remainder of the year.
We wish everyone in our school community a safe and happy holiday. We welcome students back for Term 3 on Monday 18th July.
What a fantastic celebration we had yesterday for SSP Day. We started with a beautiful mass, and this was followed with our stalls which were a hit once again. Mrs Kelsey Robinson (1M) led the whole school in a danceathon in the afternoon and the participation in this was brilliant.
Money raised for the danceathon can be sent in next term and then we can announce an official total $8847.70
Thanks to all for their donations for this day and for their participation.
Our Year 3M families presented a beautiful gift to Ms Fitzpatrick, as a symbol of how much the kids will miss her and their appreciation and gratitude.
Interschool Cross Country Carnival 2022
On Friday 24th June, 48 students competed in the annual NIPSSA Inter school Cross Country Carnival at Mawson Park. 24 schools were involved in Cross Country races each with approximately 70 runners.
Our school managed to improve its final tally by 21 points this year and score 1008 to place 8th in A Division which was a very good effort.
Some great individual results are listed below, and Kyla Narrier deserves a special mention for winning the Year 6 race!
All the results and times are available to view on Blue Chip Timing under the NIPSSA Cross Country Carnival.
Congratulations to all the team members for a very big effort on the day.
