RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

At St Simon Peter Catholic Primary School, Religious Education is part of the daily curriculum for all students. Guided units of work, mandated by the Bishops of WA are sequenced to help children relate to the Catholic faith within their daily lives.

We have embedded MJR (Making Jesus Real) into our school using the values that link faith and spirituality with practical everyday life.

Christian Meditation is widely used at St Simon Peter. Archbishop Costelloe states that “we are trying to help our young people develop that capacity for reflection and just be able to slow down and think about some deeper issues”.

The school works closely with the parish in preparing for and celebrating the sacraments. While the school has a responsibility in preparing our students to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation, this is done as part of a parish based sacramental program.
